Position Summary:

Leads hotels in visualizing, articulating and producing superb hospitality.  Impassions others to embrace the vision and act upon it. Committed to developing exceptional alliances with members of the Executive Team, Growth Team and Leadership Team as well as other senior leaders and external constituents who are critical to the success and profitability of Denihan initiatives

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive organizational excellence in each unique property by ensuring optimum performance working closely with GMs and other functions within the company.  Builds upon the corporate culture, with an emphasis on service excellence and customer/employee satisfaction, and develop a high positive image for Denihan in the community and industry.
  • Drives RevPAR and Sales performance to exceed Ownership expectations.
  • Ensure to work closely with Asset Management and General Managers to drive asset value.
  • Focus on executing Brand Standards, SOP’s and Best Practices
  • Serves as main point of contact/advisor for property teams to focus on full alignment with Ownership expectations
  • Provides an issue free work environment through motivation, support, empowerment and development for all associates and team members
  • Proactively strives to build positive working relationships through teamwork and clear communication resulting in win/win decisions
  • Executes timely and meaningful communication and follow thru with property ownership. Ensures all decisions are in consideration of the mutual interest of both property ownership and Denihan Hospitality.
  • Interacts with the asset manager for each ownership group staying proactive and responding when necessary. Instills confidence in our owners.
  • Ensures that we are operating within the confines of the property management contract
  • Oversees annual operating plan process, review and approve all components of plan before presentation to the owner
  • Oversees monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization’s financial performance against budget, financial, and operational goals
  • Oversees short and long-term financial and managerial reporting
  • Drives initiatives in the hotel management team and organizationally that contributes to long-term operational excellence
  • Leads the customer satisfaction efforts of the company. Measures and evaluates customer satisfaction for Denihan and works with key Denihan staff to develop necessary procedures, action plans, training programs, etc., to improve satisfaction levels.
  • Ensures that all decisions and resulting actions are aligned with the Denihan guest satisfaction and loyalty goals
  • Works with GMs and property leaders to insure our associate engagement is very high and that the work environment and culture leads to Denihan Hospitality becoming a true employer of choice
  • Ensures the GMs and property based leaders are properly preserving the asset, insuring cleanliness and preventive maintenance programs are in place.
  • In collaboration with owners, establishes the strategic direction for each property (current, transitions and new developments) in regards to operations and marketing


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a multi-unit, multi-location hospitality company with a minimum of 10 years General Management experience including a proven track record of growth and profitability
  • Hotel operations experience, specifically with Lifestyle, Boutique and luxury products targeted to urban clientele (meeting, business transient, and leisure FIT markets). In addition to operations experience, experience in sales/marketing or accounting/finance would be helpful. 
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations development theory and methods and the ability to communicate them effectively to others within the organization. Maximize the potential of the organization by introducing innovative concepts and holding teams accountable for the delivery on a property-level of customized, best-in-class solutions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing appropriate systems for measuring critical aspects of operational management and development, including its impact on profit and revenue outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in business, finance, and/or marketing.  An MBA is a plus
